We created main street pole banners for the village of Palenville, New York, to welcome visitors into the Catskill mountains, and encourage responsible ecotourism and respect for the area, which is growing in popularity every year.

This project was an initiative we took on pro bono, alongside our branding client Rip & Wolf, a new wine & spirits and outdoor goods store in the village.

our approach

We created a hand lettered and illustrated design for the banners, featuring the Kaaterskill Clove’s popular waterfall, Fawn’s Leap, flanked by two hemlocks, a native foundation species in the Catskill Mountain’s unique ecosystem.

The lettering was inspired by found vintage postcards, signage, and other paraphernalia from the area.
