LaBella Films is a film production company based in Los Angeles, CA. They approached us to create a brand identity system that was both contemporary and minimal, yet bold and memorable.
We crafted the LF identity by hand at first, to embody the attention and care they put into all of their projects, especially their award-winning documentary work. The b&w color palette speaks to the simple elegance in film history, and is ideal for use in film credits and title cards, and the 16:9 format of the primary logo makes a nod to that aspect ratio used for widescreen shots.
Conceptually, the LF identity system makes an illustrative nod to a viewfinder, perhaps allowing the audience to see LF through their lens, or see their project come to life through LF's work and unique vision. And that's a wrap!
Barn Hill approached us to create a brand identity system for their picturesque property, to be applied to everything from hang tags, to cocktail napkins, to championship banners for events.
We created their identity by hand, to give it a contemporary yet rustic feel, that would match the architecture and decor of their home in Claverack, NY.
Barn Hill also commissioned us to create a custom, large-scale property map illustration. We worked closely with the client to plan, generalize and design the map. We illustrated and lettered the final piece by hand. We also worked with the client's interior designer to choose colors used in the space. We sourced vendors and materials for printing, lamination, and framing, and oversaw the installation process.

HUDSON BREWING CO.
Hudson, NY has a rather salacious history. Whalers and sailors, dancing girls and corrupt authorities filled the bar rooms and street corners with stories to be told for generations to come. These stories were told over pints of beer pouring from the local brewery until prohibition reared its ugly head. Not since then has Hudson had a local beer to call their very own. Hudson Brewing Co. brought back to life a brewery the fine people of Hudson could call their own again.
Hudson Brewing Co. approached us to create a brand identity system for the launch of their brand, including a brewery and taproom in Hudson, NY. The identity we created is based on initial concept sketches by designer Cara Turett. We created a timeless, impactful logo which embodied their story, and could be used for many different applications as their company grew.
InTown Tees is a a unique t-shirt company celebrating small towns. Handmade in the Hudson Valley, for the Hudson Valley. InTown Tees began when the founder moved from Texas to the Hudson Valley, and fell in love with every town she came across. She began to read the town names in letters, but see them in images - just like the Rebus puzzles in the old game show Concentration.
InTown Tees approached us to build their brand. We created a series of place-based illustrations by hand for a series of teeshirts and other products, a brand identity system, a website, and more, all inspired by the company's story and visually inspired by Concentration.
